Jinja is Uganda’s “Adventure Capital,” located about 80 km east of Kampala, famous as the Source of the Nile and a hub for adrenaline sports like white?water rafting, bungee jumping, and kayaking. Location & Significance

  • Historic importance: Explorer John Hanning Speke identified the Source of the Nile here in 1858. Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were partly scattered at the Nile’s source in 1948.
